Blog 2: Topic Choice

1. What is you topic and why?
My topic is camera operation. Last year when I was deciding on my topic I knew I wanted to do something film related. My favorite parts of film are special effects, directing, and animation. At first, I thought I waned to do special effects, but I had no experience. As I watched a lot of videos this summer I decided on camera operation. There are many different way you can move a camera to help tell a story in one scene and I heard camera operators get paid a lot.

2. What do you hope to accomplish this year with this topic (connecting your answer to each of the 4 ESLRs)?

•  iPoly Citizen: Now that I won't be working with students and I'll be learning from professionals I hope to improve my people skills by representing positivity and responsibility.
•  Effective Communicator: I hope to be able to communicate with my mentors and understand the directions I need to take to develop my skills.
•  Effective Learner: I hope to become a effective listener and absorb all information from my mentor.
•  Effective User of Technology: With my topic there are many different versions of the same equipment and it continues to change. I hope to learn how to use the equipment and different technical equipment quickly.
